This year’s parade invites spectators on a journey through the most significant eras of the town’s history. Inspired by local historical figures and transformative moments, each segment celebrates a unique period in the development of Huntingdon.
1825 - 1875
The Bowron Years
The era of pioneers and founding settlers
Float and visual ideas:
- “Village Bowron” float: Features a grain mill, Crown land agent’s office, and the early version of the Henderson Bridge.
- Period costumes: Settlers, pioneers, families in 1800s attire.
- Live scene: William Bowron’s arrival and discovery of the site near the Châteauguay River.
- Mini mobile farm: Depicts rural life with old farming tools and animals.
- Traditional music: Fiddle, flute, and folk songs of English/French inspiration.

The Walker Years
The era of infrastructure and downtown development

- “Local Pride” float: Highlights schools, businesses, artists, and local organizations.

- Digital float: Screens playing historic videos, interviews, and stories from Huntingdon residents.
- Youth troupe: Children acting out moments from different eras.
