A word from

the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food

As Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, I am proud to support the Huntingdon Fair. This gathering of agricultural and agri-food players gives visitors an exceptional window on the region’s agriculture.

For its 191st edition, this festive family event features and updates activities that have sealed its success. Livestock competitions, educational activities, fairway rides, and the mini-farm are all drawing cards that account both for producers’ loyalty and public enthusiasm for this occasion that brings people together.

This popularity translates into business opportunities and concrete economic benefits for the entire community. Seen this way, the Alimenter notre monde 2018-2015 agri-food policy relies, and rightly so, on dynamic areas that contribute to the prosperity of the agri-food sector. Huntingdon Fair helps to keep a dialogue going between citizens, community stakeholders and producers. What’s more, it showcases the potential of agriculture in sustaining the Monteregie region’s vitality and attractiveness.

Heartfelt congratulations to the members of the Huntingdon Agricultural Society, that perpetuates this flourishing tradition which I urge the public at large to take full advantage of.
